Moses celebrates Mikel Olympic Bronze Medal

Super Eagles and  Chelsea winger Victor Moses has celebrated with team-mate John Mikel Obi on his exploits with the Nigeria U-23 team at the Rio 2016 Olympics where they won Nigeria’s only medal at the Games.

Moses was one of the overaged players coach Samson Siasia had wished to be in the squad, but Moses hoping to cement his place in the Chelsea team made himself unavailable. But while speaking ahead of yesterday’s Football League Cup tie against Bristol Rovers, the winger said he was so proud of the team and every Nigerian should also be thankful for the medal. “I was watching the Games. Obi was the captain, the leader of the side and he did really well for them,”Moses told the official website of Chelsea. “It wasn’t easy for them to go out to Brazil and win a medal so I’m very proud. They did their best, to come home with a bronze medal is great and I hope the whole country are proud of them.” Meanwhile Mikel has reiterated his wish to remain at Chelsea and fight for his place, adding that his performance at the Games has give him a boost. “The Olympics provided me with a nice lift as I return to Chelsea. I will go back to see the manager [Antonio Conte] and see what his plans are for me. I want to get back into training and prove myself. I want to play and help the team to win games. I know it will be difficult because I have missed most of the pre-season and the coach has a new way of playing,” he said.
